The Future of the Past
Chicago Metro History Fair

The Chicago Metro History Fair asks students to complete a research project. They will report research in the form of a museum exhibit, research paper, video documentary, web site, or live performance. The goal of any historical research is to provide an interpretation of change over time. After selecting a broad, general topic, it will be necessary for students to refine and focus on one very specific aspect of that topic. The research that they will complete involves a great deal of depth, interpretation, and analysis. Students will be providing a broad context for a topic, explaining basic background information about it, and providing detailed analysis of their specific area of interest.
